Meet The Team

David Wiley is the founder and CEO of BRUCE Financial. Dave is also the Executive Chairman of KEWA Financial Inc. as well as a Director of Indemnity National Insurance Company. Dave has been the CEO of three publicly traded mining companies (Phoenix Coal, Touchstone Gold and Nighthawk Gold), and previously co-founded Labrador Capital and MHI Energy Partners. As CEO of Phoenix Coal, he oversaw the roll-up of small operators in the United States and took the company public in 2008. As CEO of Nighthawk Gold, his team assembled one of Canada’s largest (930 sq km) remaining gold camps overtop of the Indin Lake Greenstone Belt in the Northwest Territories.

Rob Cihra is CFO of BRUCE Financial. Rob is also the Chief Investment Officer & Chief Strategy Officer for KEWA Financial and Indemnity National Insurance Company. Prior to joining KEWA in 2019, he was a Managing Director at Guggenheim Partners and Senior Managing Director at Evercore ISI. Rob earned his BA and MBA from the University of Western Ontario.

Mason Nowak is President of BRUCE Financial. Mason previously worked at KEWA Financial as Vice President. Before joining KEWA, he worked at RBC Capital Markets in Global Investment Banking, specializing in investment grade and high yield corporate bond offerings for oil & gas clients, with earlier experience in HSBC’s Debt Capital Markets team in Toronto, and as an underwriter in RBC’s Canadian CMBS group. Mason graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in Economics and holds a CIM® designation.

David is Vice President at BRUCE Financial and is responsible for business development efforts within the mining sector across Canada and the United States. Throughout his 10-year career in Canadian capital markets, David has built a reputation for delivering high-touch strategic advisory services and a solution-oriented execution philosophy. Across roles in both investment banking and equity research, he has provided technical expertise and tailored capital solutions to global Metals & Mining clients. David holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from Queen’s University, an MBA from McMaster University, and is a CFA Charter holder.

Matt Lampard is an Analyst at BRUCE Financial, working closely with the mining and energy teams. Before joining BRUCE, Matt worked as an Analyst at KEWA Financial, with prior experience at First National Financial as a Capital Markets Analyst. Matt has a B.E.Sc in Software Engineering from Western University.
